We are looking to fill multiple positions for the Summer and Fall to work on a digital game project for ideas42, a behavioral science non-profit. This is a fast-paced, already in-progress project about socio-economic issues relevant to New Yorkers and the South Bronx.
This internship is only available to Hostos Community College students and alumni.
5 developers, including artists, designers, and programmers who will work collaboratively with an existing team. These roles are for current students to gain valuable professional production experience while simultaneously earning college credit for GD298, which fulfills a Major Elective requirement.
Previous experience creating digital games and/or assets for games for either class assignments or personal/commercial projects is required.
This is a part-time position.
Must be a Game Design major.
This role is to oversee development logistics, including establishing and maintaining deadlines and budgets, monitoring developer progress, working with external clients, and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the studio. It is not a creative role.
Previous producing experience is not required. The applicant must be interested in working in a support role and have excellent organization and communication skills.
This is a part-time position.
Must be a Game Design, Digital Design & Animation, or Digital Music major or alumni.
The composer/sound designer will be responsible for creating soundtrack and sound effects for the game. Previous experience in game development is not required.
This is a contract position, paid on a per-job basis rather than hourly.
Must be a Digital Music major.
The animator will create 2D animations for characters and assets in the game. The UI Designer is responsible for the user interface, such as icons, signage, and heads-up display.
This is a contract position, paid on a per-job basis rather than hourly.
Must be a Digital Design & Animation major.
Must be a Hostos Community College student enrolled in one of the following majors: Game Design, Digital Design & Animation, or Digital Music (depending on the position).
The producer/administrative assistant role is available to alumni.
For game developers only:Must be enrolled in at least one course in the Fall 2024 and be available to work 20hrs/week in-person at the studio. Hours are TBD.
Hourly interns: $20/hr
Contract positions: Paid on a per-job basis upon delivery of final assets at a rate equivalent to $20/hr.
Summer: 8 weeks, from June 17th to August 9th
Fall: 12 weeks, dates TBD
